From Engineer to Chief of Staff: A Career Journey at Evero

23 December 2025

1. Can you tell us a bit about your journey at Evero and what led you to your current role as Chief of Staff?

I joined Evero in 2019 in a commercial role with a technical slant, focussed on cost savings and revenue generation at our assets. That mix of commercial and technical experience allowed me to step into a project management role on a debt raise in 2022, working closely with our Corporate Finance team.

The experience opened the door to being involved in more strategic projects across Evero. When the company created the Chief of Staff role, I was offered the chance to take it on, leading strategic initiatives, improving systems and processes, and overseeing both Business Operations and HR.

2. What were some of the key milestones or turning points that helped you progress?

A major turning point for me was stepping into the project management role in 2022. It came at a time when the company was expanding quickly, and having been at Evero for a few years, I had both the historical knowledge and the technical understanding to help guide that growth.

Another milestone was being given responsibility for implementing strategic changes across the business. It required me to translate complex technical information into something accessible for a corporate audience, a skill that has been invaluable in my progression.

Ultimately, the pace of change within Evero created space for me to grow, take on new responsibilities, and continually stretch myself.

3. How did Evero support your professional growth along the way?

Evero has supported me by giving me opportunities that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I’ve been trusted to work on projects I hadn’t tackled before and to take on challenges that required new ways of thinking and leading.

The company also invested in my development through external coaching and leadership training, which helped me adapt to the responsibilities of a senior role and build confidence as I stepped into leadership.

4. Were there any mentors, leaders, or colleagues who played a significant role in your development?

Absolutely. Our Executive Leadership Team has played a significant role in my development, they’ve been incredibly supportive as I’ve taken on new responsibilities and moved into a leadership position.

I also learn a huge amount from the team I manage. They’re a diverse group with deep expertise in their own areas, and working with them has been one of the most rewarding parts of my role.

5. If you could describe Evero in three words, what would they be and why?

Empowering – Evero creates real opportunities for people to shift roles, grow their skills, and shape their careers. The structure is open and supportive, which makes development truly accessible.

Rewarding – Being part of a company that produces renewable energy, and will ultimately capture carbon, feels genuinely meaningful. It’s rewarding to know the work we do has a positive impact.

Ever-changing – No two days are the same, and that pace of innovation reflects our commitment to building a sustainable future.
